Meet the Soul Bond of Three

Surviving Outbound

by

Liza O’Connor

IN THE MULTIVERSES, NOTHING IS FOR CERTAIN,
NOT EVEN THE PATH OF LIGHT

Saran along with her ‘not dead, just no longer human’ soul-bond—Tamara, and their giant blue bull leave in search of a handler so Blue can escape Earth and travel outbound. The man Saran meets and falls in love with turns out to be Tamara’s husband. Their spiritual joining of three sets into play a prophecy written long ago. Together, they become Tamsarandem, the most powerful soul-bond in all the multiverses.

The shamans pay for their voyage to Terranue, an unknown planet, never before colonized by humans. In return, Tamsarandem must look after the other colonists and help them to prosper and find their Paths of Light. They will need to do this mostly on their own, for the Gods are running out of authorized interventions. However, the God Pane, with the help of the sentient ship-computer, Marybell, constantly search for clever workarounds to ensure The Path of Light will reign supreme upon the final collapse. But there is only so much they can do within their bureaucratic rules.

Having failed to stop Tamsarandem from leaving Earth, those who walk the Path of Darkness embed their own people, including their darkest lord, on the ship to ensure it will never arrive at Terranue.

Meet Tamsarandem,
the only Soul-bond of Three in the Multiverses.
(And yes, there is one per universe).
Tamara
Dmitri

Saran

This is an unusual soul bond. Normally, Two Soul-bonds are formed in the womb and are normally twins. However, Saran formed with Tamara when her father brought home a baby and commanded that she care for it. (Saran was five at the time.) With no mother, she was thrilled to have someone to love. (The father was unloveable).
The moment she held Tamara to her chest, the bonded into a single soul and would know what each other felt and thought for the rest of their lives, and unbeknownst to Saran, ever after Tamara died. (She was murdered.)

Not wishing to cause her soul-bond pain, she failed to mention she was no longer corporeal and stated a desire to travel the world instead. She only came home when she knew it was time to go Outbound.

So they take their giant bull, Blue and head through woods that will kill the normal person, and on the other side, Saran meets Dmitri, who happens to be the handler that can take Blue outbound, and Tamara's husband, which she had also failed to mention to Saran in the last six years.

With Tamara's encouragement, Dmitri falls in love with Saran and asks her to marry him, making them legally a married soul-bond of two. But when they make love, they bond into a single soul, now contained in three bodies. They have the sweetness of Saran, the optimism of Tamara, and the strength and honor of Dmitri.

They are now the one and true Soul-bond of Three that the shamans have been waiting for. Now the ship can go outbound to a new planet to ensure the Path of Light reigns supreme at final collapse.

Oh wait....those who walk a dark path do not wish that to happen. And thus the battles of craftiness begin.

There are several levels in this story.

Level 1: The Gods of Probabilities.
While they may sound a bit like mythological gods, overtime we have twisted reality a great deal.

While they call themselves Gods, they appear to me to be an advanced sentient species that expects to be obeyed. OR ELSE!

My favorite are Zousan, his daughter Athena and the half-God Pane. (Referred to in our myths as Zeus, Athena, and Pan)

When Zousan complains about their current deadbeat staff, Athena suggests they bring on all the half-Gods on the various planets.

While the children of Gods and other sentients normally resemble the Gods, since it is the better DNA, whatever God mated with Pane's mother couldn't match her DNA and thus poor Pane came out looking like a strange orangutan.

Another interesting character it the pipes behind Pane in the picture. That's part of an organically grown computer, named Marybell. When Pane thanked her for delivering his first meal she began a rather rabid maturation into a sentient being and they quickly fell in love with each other.

Level 2:
The humans who get on a ship, traveling to an unknown planet where they have a 4.8% chance of survival on their new planet.

But first they have to get there, and that's not looking too good. There are tampered people and an ancient darkness aboard the ship, plus a whole bunch of pain in the asses normal people.

I'm not judging. I'd be cranky too if I had to sleep in a 4X4 rubber cube for the long 9 month journey. Why does it take so long? you ask.

Simple, space is really really really big. So even with space warp technology that allows you to create a bubble so the ship can travel outside of the laws of quantum physics and go faster than the speed of light, it still takes time to go so far.

(That's something a fellow at NASA is in charge of, even as I write this. I have confidence that he and his department will succeed.)

Yes, I try very hard to tether my stories to reality. However, in sci-fi, the results are often mind boggling given the theories of Quantum Physics. It's a crazy world out there, so jump on my ship and come along.

Warning: I could only afford to book you a rubber cube.
