On Highland Time by Lexi Post

Time Travel with a Twist

As if writing a time travel story isn’t hard enough, I had to add a couple twists to it. At least that’s what I did in On Highland Time. Not only does Diana Montgomery go back to 1306 Scotland, but she goes there because it is part of her job. Yes, she is an agent of Time Weavers, Inc., a secret agency that weaves history back together after a Disruptor has changed it.
But that isn’t the only twist. Nope, I had to make it even more complicated. Diana goes back in time because she has a genetic ability to do so. Humans are starting to evolve and a handful of females have discovered they can travel through the Timestream. So all Diana needs to do is think about when and where she wants to be and she goes there.
And still that’s not all. In addition to her time travel ability, she has another, seemingly mild ability to calm people. This comes in handy a few unexpected times in Scotland. Usually, she only uses it to calm one of her fellow agents who is plagued by nightmares. All the people on the TWI staff have some unique ability. Zania the seamstress, can create clothing that is made from the original materials. Old Arthur, the researcher, can download all his information by staring into an agent’s eyes. Even Javier, the women’s trainer, can sense muscle messages before a person moves.
Yet even with all this, TWI still has no idea who the Disruptors are or what they want. Luckily, while Diana is on Highland time, she discovers a piece of the puzzle. The only problem is, she also falls in love with a Laird who must die in order for history to right itself.
I hope you enjoy On Highland Time and all its twists and turns. Enjoy the ride, I mean read 😊
Always, Lexi

Excerpt:
Torr appeared to grow larger before her eyes. He straightened to his full height and looked down at her, his eyes hard. “I was protecting my king and what is mine.”
She swallowed, his stare clearly indicating he considered her his. She broke eye contact and looked past him to find the two men, Beth, Braigh, and Mairi watching them. Once again, she was the center of attention. Not the right place for a TWI agent.
Medieval. She needed to think like a medieval woman. What would Mairi do in this case? Actually, the poor woman might very well faint.
Though it rubbed her all ways but the right way, she kept her gaze lowered. “I’m sorry that helping Ian angered you. I will refrain from doing so again.”
She heard Torr sigh. “That is not what upset me.”
Daring to look at him, she hoped her gaze wasn’t too direct. “Then why were you angry?”
He folded his arms across his chest, usually a common defensive gesture, but one she had begun to believe was his thinking stance. “I did not like seeing ye in the arms of another.”
That was blunt and to the point. “But aren’t you in the arms of another woman every few nights?”
He looked away and dropped his arms before quickly changing the subject. “I believe food awaits us.”
“So it does.” She let her irritation spill into her tone of voice. His double standard grated on her nerves, but that was according to her own time. She had to stop letting him get to her. Crouching down, she picked up her shoes and walked barefoot to the blanket, completely ignoring the hulk strolling beside her.
When she sat on the blanket, Douglas caught her eye and shook his head.
Oh, go have dinner with Medusa! She took a deep breath to regain some balance.
Torr lowered his large body next to her. Holding out his hand, he offered her a chunk of bread and a square of cheese. Reluctantly, she accepted it. Crossing her legs beneath her, she took a bite. The sharp cheese woke her taste buds and refocused her thoughts.
He didn’t say a word as he ate his mutton and bread.
She appreciated the silence and the food, casting furtive glances at him. The man would definitely be considered “eye candy” in her age. Broad shoulders with large muscles in his arms, developed pectorals, and abs women sighed over. While she had only seen a glimpse of his thighs, she could tell by the bulge of his calves that they, too, would be solid strength. He was no cover model with his crooked nose, red-tinged hair, and pure maleness, but he was striking in his own way. Even more than his giant build, there was a purpose to him that forewarned he was a force to be reckoned with. She just couldn’t see him dying in battle.
“Here.” Torr held out a wooden cup.
She tentatively took a sip to find it was water. It enhanced the aftertaste of the cheese, one of the few food items she found palatable. She handed the cup back. “Thank you.”
His large hand covered hers but didn’t let go. She looked up at him. His deep blue eyes crinkled at the corners. “Ye have no need to fear me, lass.”
Maybe not physically, but definitely emotionally. She liked this big, kind-hearted man, far too much. His feelings for her, though only interest and lust, were not good. Better to keep him at arm’s length. She grinned. “I know.”
His brow rose and arrogance revealed itself once again. “Ye do? Well then, ye also know my bed is waiting for you.”
She swallowed the thrill of excitement that ran through her chest and instead focused on her modern irritation over his lifestyle. Though she tempered it, she wasn’t above a little sarcasm. “Which night?”
He scowled, his face taking on harsh lines.
Holy Hamlet, he looked mean when he did that.
“Lass, you test my patience.”
“Laird, you test mine.” She raised her chin just a fraction.
He scowled harder. Then his face relaxed, and he chuckled. “I think ye will fit into this clan very well.”
The idea of being a welcome part of the clan scared the hell out of her. Since her parents’ death, she’d created her own clan, so to speak. She couldn’t become attached to another, especially not in 1306. She needed to put distance between herself and this laird.

Cruising into Eden by Lexi Post On Sale for 99c

Cruising into Eden –
 A Social Sci-fi Romance
on Sale for 99¢!

Have you ever taken a nude cruise? Believe it or not, there are such things, and they cruise to places that welcome nudists! In my book, CRUISE INTO EDEN, you get to go on one as a voyeur and stop at all the real places these cruises stop, plus get a feel for the rules around nude cruising. But that’s just the beginning.
Erin, the sci-fi lover, is not a nudist and when she meets two out-of-this-world hunks, she has no idea how truly out-of-this-world they are! That’s because they are from the planet Eden, which in addition to producing an all-male population of hunks with special abilities who don’t wear clothes, it also puts women on a pedestal.

I love writing about this planet because of the social constructs that have been created based upon these two simple facts. Or rather three facts. The Edenists are actually evolved from humans from ancient Earth. The Crius took them to colonize Eden. These aliens dropped off the humans and haven’t been there since, though some of their technology still exists on the planet.

If you decide to take the cruise into Eden with Erin, you will eventually arrive on planet Eden. But to fully enjoy all the pleasures and dangers this hot, jungle planet offers, you’ll have to continue with the series. AVENGING EDEN (Eden series #5) is due out in March, so you have plenty of time to catch up 😊
Pick up CRUISE INTO EDEN for only 99¢ for a limited time in the boxed set of 4 first-in-series books called FROM LEXI WITH LOVE. A great deal!
I hope you enjoy the nude cruise 😉
Always, Lexi,

CRUISE INTO EDEN Blurb:

After eleven years of forced abstinence, Sci-fi television employee and IT geek Erin Danielson, boards a nude cruise in the hopes of finally getting lucky. It seems her luck has changed when two handsome men with ripped bodies, enticing accents, and hearts of gold invite her into their stateroom. But if this erotic ménage seems too good to be true, then…
Nassic Wild and Wareson Night hail from the planet Eden, where women are scarce, and their mission is simple—meet the woman they’ve been waiting for for the last eleven years, bond with her and take her home. At first all goes according to plan as they pleasure her with their bodies and their special abilities. But when their best intentions lead to the worst results they lose her, along with their hearts.

Now they must find a way to woo her back or return to Eden with no hope for the future.

She glanced at Ware, who now sat on the lounge chair next to her rubbing lotion on his bulging biceps. Above those massive muscles on his right shoulder was what looked like natural beauty marks, but they were in an odd shape, two dots in a row above three dots in a row. Despite the fact the man was as dark as someone from Greece, they stood out clearly. How odd.

She stared as Ware protected his skin, all of his skin. The man had no tan lines. He was a bit bigger than Nase, and broader, but not by much. He still hadn’t said anything, and she suddenly wanted to hear his voice. “Have you taken a nude cruise before?”

He stilled mid-rub and looked at her. His gaze was intense and now that he was next to her, she could see his eyes were a forest green. Absolutely breathtaking, though it could have been her anticipation of his voice that had her holding her breath.

“No. This is our first one.”

The deepness of his tone wrapped around her like a cocoon that she never wanted to leave. His accent was heavier, but from where? The tension she felt around Nase disappeared with Ware, which left her clearheaded enough to remember the two men were a couple and she had no right to ogle them. “This is my first one, too. Though I’m not sure I will ever get into the ‘nude’ part.” She forced herself to stop staring at Ware’s perfect male body. She closed her eyes and lay back on her lounge.

“Why?”

The dark, sensuous voice slid over her skin again, and she could feel him looking at her. No, not looking, exploring her with his sight. She opened her eyes and watched him. Every place he viewed suddenly became sensitized, as if he had lightly run his fingers along her body. She swore she could feel his gaze as it traveled across her stomach, up her ribs, over her breasts, along her neck, and through her hair until she found his eyes riveted on hers. “Why?”

“Yes. Why would you not allow your body to enjoy the sun fully?”

She pushed her hair behind her ear. “I… I—It’s hard to explain.”

He cocked his head and stared intently at her.
Obviously her answer had not satisfied him. “I’m guessing you are not American. In my country, we wear clothes all the time. It’s what we’re used to. I know there are a few countries that are more open about nakedness, but I’m not from those.”

“I believe many of the people on this ship are from America.”

Erin was too focused on the extra emphasis he left on the final letter “a” in “America” to at first grasp his point. When she did, she flushed. “True, but I never knew they existed. This is all very new to me. I just learned last night why there are piles of towels in the main areas of the boat. I guess everyone is supposed to use them to sit on if they are nude. I’m sure I’ll learn a lot more about this by the end of the week.”

As if her answer had pleased him, he went back to rubbing lotion on his dark body. She couldn’t help but watch as he finished covering his hard stomach, but as his hand dipped between his legs, she closed her eyes tight.

Eden Revealed (Eden Series #4) Blurb:
A female spy, an Eden monk, and a man with no memory must reveal a corrupt leader while keeping their hearts safe—an impossible task.
Former stunt woman, Toni Reid, has adopted Eden as her new home. What’s not to like with naked hunks walking around and women being worshipped by them? She doesn’t mind the distraction of spying on one of the leaders of the Ruling Circle too much, but just as she discovers his secret, she’s caught.
Akasha is next in line to ascend to the Triad panel, those who determine which men are morally good enough to receive a portal chip. He has kept his connections to people minimal keep his future judgements unbiased, but when he discovers Toni spying, he has no choice but to capture her and discover what she knows.
Sandale is busy recapturing who he was before his memory wipe. Traveling to Naralina to rescue Toni is a good excuse to meet his family and find himself again. He discovers Toni is more than a task, she is a force to be reckoned with, and his focus quickly shifts.
Akasha and Sandale find themselves embroiled in a plot that could well send Eden back into another world war over women. The only way to stop it is to work together with Toni, but working to stop a world war is easy when compared to laying siege to Toni’s heart.

Eden Revealed (Eden Series #4) Excerpt:
“Do not make a sound, understand?”
Sure, she understood. She understood she was going to relieve one Edenist of his balls the minute her arms were released. The man pulled her backwards, away from the peephole usually used for voyeurs and not for spies like herself. Yeah, she was toast if she didn’t get out of this.
Every ounce of her being wanted to fight against the hold on her, but she gritted her teeth and pretended to be meek. She’d never been meek. Her friend Serena always told her she turned aggressive when she was afraid and she “needed to keep her head”—whatever that meant.
She took a deep breath as they stopped while the man behind her kicked a door open. She wanted to see who it was so she could gauge her ability to talk herself out of this one…after she brought him to his knees. Not only didn’t she like being restrained, but aggression toward women was strictly forbidden on the entire planet. She doubted this Edenist would want to go before the Ruling Circle with Grandall in charge.
The man turned her toward the bed then pushed her away, slamming the door behind him.
She spun, her foot already headed for his groin as she glanced at his face. The air left her lungs in appreciation, even as his arm came down to knock her leg away from her intended target. As she turned, barely keeping her balance, her libido sighed in relief, but her ego wasn’t so happy.
She stopped her movement and stood facing him, her weight on the balls of her feet. She tried to keep her anger up as she stared at the tall man with the long dark hair, light blue eyes, side-shaved head and the only tattoo she’d ever seen on Eden. This was her kind of male—just her luck.

Lexi Post shares Eden Discovered and the two before it. Rafflecopter!

Today, I have bestseller Lexi Post on my Multiverses.  So let's say hello to Lexi, so she'll come back and visit us with more frisky characters. But right now let's check these out.

Eden Discovered (The Eden Series Book 3)
Hi everyone (waving). I’m very excited about the release of Eden Discovered which is the 3rd book in my Eden Series. I write romances inspired by the classics, so I used Emily Dickinson’s poems for this series. It always fascinated me that Dickinson (19th Century female poet) was a recluse and was rarely seen outside of her house. That got me to thinking, maybe she wasn’t actually home. Maybe, she was on the planet Eden since she talked about Eden so much in her poetry ;-)

The first book, Cruise into Eden was inspired by the poem “Wild Nights! Wild Nights!”

And Unexpected Eden was inspired by “Come slowly-Eden!”

This newest release, Eden Discovered was inspired by the poem her editor titled “The Goal,” but her first line (by which all her poems are known) is “Each life converges to some centre.” That’s what sparked my interest.

There are a couple of things you need to know about Eden. First, it is a planet of naked hunks with special abilities. Second, every woman brought from Earth must marry more than one Edenist. Oh, and third, women are considered precious and protected at all costs.
GIVEAWAY In this story, the heroine is an animal lover, so of course, animals of Eden figure prominently. Konala communicates with animals and Theron befriends a tigran, which is a sabretooth tiger size cat whose fur changes like a chameleon. In honor of Theron’s cat, I’m giving away this Venetian cat mask made in Italy. I could see this face on her at night with the Bendis moon rising ;-) Just enter the Rafflecopter for a chance to win. Good luck!
Always, Lexi

Eden Discovered

Animal lover Jaelene Upton doesn’t expect to lose sight of her sister when she follows her through a bizarre travel portal, but that’s exactly what happens when she’s distracted by a cute baby porcupine. Lost, she asks for directions, only to be nearly assaulted by one naked man before being saved by another. Her best guess is she’s landed among a native tribe in the middle of a jungle….but odd reflections and energy sources have her questioning even that assumption.
Theron misses his home in Loraleaf and the brothers of his heart Konala and Rekah. His new home, a lonely cave, is his escape from seeing the woman he loves happily bonded to Loraleaf’s leaders. When he saves Jaelene from lawbreakers, he finds himself drawn to her intoxicating curiosity and despite his best efforts, he falls for her. But no matter what his heart wants, he can’t offer her anything but safety and a reunion with her sister. Unless…
If Theron can interest Konala in Jaelene as well, then he would only have two more obstacles to conquer, Rekah and Jaelene herself. But Rekah, hurt by Theron’s betrayal, wants nothing to do with Jaelene and when she discovers Theron’s past love, she refuses to be his consolation price. As the battle with the lawbreakers grows near, Theron realizes, this time, he may well lose more than his heart.

Jaelene wasn’t chosen, which meant she might not even think his world was possible. “Don’t you believe there can be life on other planets?”
She looked down in thought. When her deep blue gaze returned to his, he almost forgot what they were discussing. Her eyes reminded him of the Latzeran Sea, its dark blue waters so beautiful that people were known to ignore the dangers of its depths and drown.
“I never really thought about it.” She shrugged one shoulder. “It would be a bit egotistical to think Earth had the only living beings, so I guess I can accept that somewhere out there in another galaxy, there is life.”
She held up her index finger. “But I don’t accept that there is a portal that I can step through and suddenly be on another planet.” She shook her head, her long black hair swishing over her shoulder. “Nope. I know I’m still on Earth. Heck, it was a porcupine that got me lost in the first place. I doubt there are porcupines on other planets.” Jaelene crossed her arms as if she’d solved the most important problem in the universe.
There was something endearing about her complete confidence. Theron liked it. “That was a welchet.”
 “A what?”
He grinned. “It’s a welchet. It looks like a porcupine as you noticed, but it has two tusks that grow down from its bottom jaw for digging up grubs and it has six feet.”
She looked at him a moment then shook her head. “Nice try. What I saw was a porcupine. Maybe you just call it something different.”
Theron studied her. What would she think when she saw her sister’s pet welchet? What would she think of Loraleaf? A stab of longing sliced through his heart at the thought of her seeing his home. He missed it more than he’d thought possible, but just imagining going back caused another pain altogether.
