Rebecca Royce shares her two new Sci-Fi Romances. These are must reads!

Hey everyone,
Rebecca here! I am so excited to be on Liza’s blog today.  Once upon a time, Liza and I were new authors together.  I have always been a huge fan of her work.  Isn’t she awesome?

Anyway, I’m here today because I’m excited to tell you that I have a new series that has just released.  (The first two books.) It’s called the Wings of Artemis and it’s a Science Fiction Romance.

Kidnapped By Her Husbands (Wings Of Artemis #1)

“A great newcomer to the Reverse Harem genre! I truly enjoyed the characters and their dynamics. I’m dying to find out what will happen next!”—Bestselling author AS Oren

Alone in prison.
No recollection of the past.
A baby grows inside her.

In a futuristic world where women are scarce and only the wealthy can afford a wife, Melissa Alexander is trapped in a prison rehabilitation center with no memory of who she is.  The unborn child growing inside her is all that keeps them from making her pay for the sins she's committed--sins she cannot recall.  But when five sexy strangers, claiming to be her husbands, kidnap her and bring her to safety, Melissa fears she can't trust them.  All she can remember is what she was taught under the prison's watchful, vengeful eye:  to hate them.  But how can she hate--or love--what she can't remember?

CONTENT: Intense, Reverse Harem

First, I must warn you the name is a bit of a spoiler, but given if you don’t mention the title, Amazon will not let you review the book, it’s an impossible situation.
Which is rather like the book…
Rebecca Royce also creates an impossible situation for her heroine, Melissa.
Melissa gets her mind wiped and is held in a rehabilitation prison. She learns she was a wicked woman in the past, and must learn a meeker, more submissive behavior.  She’s also pregnant, and if she wants to get a husband for her child, she best tow the line
And since that’s the only Kool-Aid being offered, she drinks it.
But then a guard starts talking to her—he’s not supposed to do that.
And a prince shows up and demands she receive pre-natal care.
Then all hell breaks loose. The guard carries her into the Prince’s shuttle and escapes the planet.
Turns out five men have stolen her and one of them seems to hate her.
She doesn’t know why, and neither does the reader….at first.
Royce has many lines of intrigue running through this fabulous story. Slowly revealing answers to our puzzles, until the main one left is rather a Gordian’s knot.  They might be able to reinstate her memories, but does she want that? She is very different than her prior self. Is she a better person as she is now? She is certainly kinder and more loving, but is that what is needed to survive?

Royce has created a complex physiological and physical thriller that is absolutely thrilling to read. And for those who like their books spicy, the last half of the book is RED HOT and sizzling.

5 Stars

And the Follow Up which completes the first part of the series, Rescued by their Wife.

Rescued by Their Wife (Wings of Artemis #2)
A wife. A mother. A rebel.

And now their savior...

When a crazed woman wants to take control of the universe, destroying all that defies her, it's up to Melissa Alexander to retrieve her memories and save those she loves the most. As the bonds of love tighten and the danger increases, Melissa must find the strength to fight in a world that threatens to take everything she's ever loved or needed away from her. With so much on the line, can the Rebel Princess be the savior they all need?

Rebecca Royce brings the heat in her latest sci-fi romance, Rescued By Their Wife, Book 2 of the Wings of Artemis series.

Liza O'Connor interviews the book Adrenaline Rush by Rebecca Royce

Today, we will capture a potentially dangerous book. I'm a little worried.

Space Rep: Why? We spacenap books all the time.

Liza: True, but this book is about superheroes. And when you pit yourself against a hero you become what?

Space Rep: I don't know.

Liza: Squished if you aren't careful.

Space Rep: Maybe we shouldn't spacenap anything.

Liza: We've no choice. It's what we do. So  turn off the microwave and turn on the transponder.

Space Rep: I got a bad feeling about this.

Liza: I'm not feeling warm and fuzzy either.
Welcome Adrenaline Rush. Mind if I call you Rush?

Book: Well, I am in a hurry, so ...why not?

Liza: So tell us about yourself.

Rush: Ace Hudson has worked for his brother, Draco, at Powers, Inc. since it opened.

Liza: Yes, I recall reading about that in another book. I believe you can no longer go into work because of a dalliance with  you handler.

Rush: *Pages flutter* Not me. My character Ace did that. I'm a proper book and mind my pages. Unfortunately, Ace is not so constrained. May I continue MY story please.

Liza: Yes, of course.

Rush: Ace spends his days trying to balance his job  of protecting the world with taking care of his teenage brother, Lael.

Liza: He must be exhausted.

Rush: Actually, just the opposite. He must spend his nights trying to overcome the overabundance of adrenaline in his body that makes him lose control.

Liza: By himself? That sounds boring. He needs to get a new girlfriend. Just one that isn't his handler.

Rush: He does have a secret crush on a celebrity chef who makes home-cooked meals look sexier than they have a right to be.

Liza: That sounds interesting. Tell me more

Rush: Alice Styles runs an empire based on her ability to make people want to eat what she cooks. When she’s nearly killed on live television in a situation straight out of one of her childhood nightmares, she reluctantly asks Ace Hudson to help keep her safe.

Liza: And it was love at first sight.

Rush: Not even close. It was instant dislike and which eventually worked it's way to mutual pleasure.

Liza: And they live happily ever after right?

Rush: Not so fast. Ace and Alice do not have an easy path to love. They have to deal with their egos and personal barriers first.

Liza: And then they have their happily ever after?

Rush: Sorry to say there's a looming threat just waiting for a moment to possess Alice.

Liza: Okay, now I'm worried. Open your covers and let me read.

Rush: Sorry, no can do. Alice has put some recipes in here she does not wish to share.

Liza: Not a problem. I hate cooking. Now open up.

Rush: Alice says doubly no now.

Liza: I'm call Rebecca Royce if you don't open up your covers.

Rush: No can do.

Liza: Space Rep, find me a link to Amazon. They'll let me read the book.

Space Rep: Sorry. It's not on Amazon yet.

Liza: GRRRRRRR

Space Rep: This isn't my fault!

Rush: She sounds like she's incurred demon possession. Call Ace!

Space Rep: No she's just growls when she doesn't get her way. Are you sure you can't open your pages?

Rush: I'd like to return to Rebecca now.

Space Rep: For a price. Give me your Buy Link.
Rush: If you insist

Buy Link

Space Rep: Great. Now go before Liza rips your pages out. She's like a 5 year old child when she doesn't get her way.

Rush: A five year old child. Dear God! I'm calling Ace for help.

Space Rep: Just jump into the transponder and you'll be fine.

*sighs with relief when door closes*

I better feed Liza, that usually makes her stop growling.

Liza: GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Liza O'Connor reviews Justice by Rebecca Royce.

Liza: This is a sad day for me.

Jess:  Why?

Liza: I must write a review on the last of Rebecca Royce’s Warrior Series.

Jess: No! It can't be the last.

Liza: If I thought for a moment Rebecca Royce wouldn’t end the series if I refused to write a review. I’d stop writing reviews entirely. But the heroine Rachel Clancy is 18 now and evidently Rebecca thinks she’s tortured the poor girl enough.
So Book Five concludes the series.

Jess: My heart is breaking!

Liza: Mine too. But first, let's hear from Rachel:

My name is Rachel Clancy.

If you’ve been reading these books, then you already know that. But I feel the need to introduce myself to you every time I start a new one, like you might have just found me, or you’re a stranger I don’t know. Manners dictate the introduction although I suspect I’ll never know your name in return, which is okay. Maybe it’s better I never do.

I haven’t held anything back from you. I’ve not tried to make myself look better or less selfish or more mature. No, I wrote down everything the way I remember it happening. Someone else might remember the events differently but this is how it happened for me, or at least how I see it when I think about the years between my sixteenth and eighteenth birthdays.

Eighteen would have made me a grown-up in the Before Time, in the days before Dr. Icahn’s experiments nearly ended the entire world. In the time after, sixteen became the year we achieved maturity. Still, for me, since I could remember what my life had been like before, eighteen meant something when I finally got there.

It indicated I had survived, somehow. When I blew out the candles, low-sung lyrics of “Happy Birthday” filling the room, and my mother and father cheering, I couldn’t help but disbelieve I’d actually made it to my birthday. Was this all a dream? Had I died on a field, eaten by a Werewolf, and these thoughts of my eighteenth birthday were imaginings of my dying mind?

Writing these tales, telling them to you, helps me to believe they happened.

But the sad truth is, if you are reading them, then most likely I am dead.

Because I don’t know that I’d give them to anyone in any other set of circumstances.

If you’re reading my books, then it’s possible I never saw year nineteen.

That thought would make me horribly sad if I couldn’t feel in my bones that justice was coming, on her way, down the road—traveling toward us. Those who destroyed humanity will have their reckoning

Reader, if I didn’t live long enough, I hope it felt really good to see Icahn fall. I hope everyone reveled in it, partied through the night, kissed, and cried out with glee for the way he ended.

Even if I never got to see it.

Liza's Review

The story begins with Ichan’s humans attacking Genesis.   Rachel’s past is confused with various lines of ‘truth’ that doesn’t always mesh with others due to the memory manipulations Ichan has done to all of them. But in her past, she only killed werewolves and vampires. Now, she has killed a human and it makes her physically ill.

In the prior book, Ichan avoided capture and escaped from Redemption. Now in hiding, he’s sending humans to kill the Warriors who try to stop his evil machinations.

In anticipation of the final battle against Ichan, they send the children with a few warriors and mothers to hide in the last place Ichan would expect: his former cloning labs, ironically called Redemption.

When the final showdown with Ichan occurs, as always he takes them by surprise. Entering through a tunnel, with a massive army, he takes the children and guarding-warriors hostage. The first thing he does is contact Rachel and kill a Warrior whom Rachel has admired and loved, as did I.

It will break your heart, as will the decision Rachel makes to ensure Ichan dies. Her ability to sacrifice herself for those she loves has no limit.

Her decision leads her to certain death, but she has defied death before, can she do it yet again?

Those who come to her aid are men she’s had reasons to mistrust in the past. Will they, can they save her, or will she once again be betrayed.

And even if they do get her home, is there any hope of survival with starving Vampires making their ways to the surface in search of blood?

I adore this series and this book did not disappoint. The story is action packed from beginning to end. As always, Rachel becomes the key, the linchpin to save everyone.

Yet, even in the most dire of moments, she still retains her fabulous acerbic wit. Take for example her thoughts when the werewolf pack is planning to rip her to pieces. They hate her because she got their leader’s son killed in book four. (Jason saved her life, but died in doing so).

Only one werewolf questions if they should revenge Jason’s death in this manner and this is her thought in return:

Maybe the severity of the circumstances made me too sentimental, but it moved my heart in a small way to know someone else thought Jason would really not want me eaten.

That is pure Rachel and why I have loved her completely for five books.

The story concludes with an HEA, which is no mean feat given the situations Rebecca Royce puts the poor girl through. (I suppose since she turns 18 in this book, I should call her a young woman.)

The only issue I have with Royce, is that she has ended the series. Honestly, I never wanted it to end.

It is with great sadness, I give this book, and the entire series a spectacular 5 stars.

I will love and think of you, Rachel Clancy, Always!

Me too.

Liza O'Connor Review Rebecca Royce's Dragon Joined.

Today, I'm reviewing Rebecca Royce's Dragon Joined.

Space Rep: Didn't you just review a book for Rebecca Royce.

Liza: Yes, I Did. But Rebecca is incredibly prolific. This is another book worthy of being reviewed.

Blurb

Dean Andrews watched in horror when sixteen-year-old Amanda Sugar was carried away by the dragons. He swore to destroy the beasts before anyone else could be taken. Six years later, he leads his people in a war against the dragons and finds someone he never expected to see again-Amanda, who has grown into a passionately desirable woman.
Amanda has spent the last six years as a prisoner of the most monstrous dragon imaginable. When she lays eyes on Dean she can't believe he is there-she has dreamed of him since she was a teenager. Together they will discover a way to finally end the dragons' rule over humanity, or die trying.
A Romantica® futuristic erotic romance from Ellora's Cave

LIZA O'CONNOR'S REVIEW

Aliens come in all forms.
And some are incredibly evil
Dragons from another world have taken over Earth in the future. The remaining humans handle the situation differently. Some serve the dragons, some fight, and some become possessions, a second body for the aliens to use for their amusement.

Six years ago, Dean Andrews watched a beautiful 16-year-old girl, Amanda Sugar, be snared by a dragon and taken away, leaving behind two small siblings whom he takes in as his own. From that day, he swore to destroy these creatures and began a war against an enemy that seemed unbeatable.

When he penetrates their lair, he discovers Amanda Sugar remains alive, but possessed by a female dragon, both clever and evil. Yet deep inside, he discovers the true Amanda lives and how to reach her. Together, they create a plan to take down the dragons beginning with the one possessing Amanda.

Rebecca Royce takes on any subject with a refreshing new perspective, and this is no exception. New revelations and events will delight and terrify the reader at every turn. The dragon is as evil as they get and uses poor Amanda deplorably. Yet, even in this life of misery, Amanda falls in love with Dean once again and this time, he loves her as well. And they use their love, their determination, and incredible bravery to win not only their release from captivity but the freedom of all humans.

This book will keep you on the edge of your reading chair ‘til the very end. Conquering a race of giant, intelligent, body possessing aliens is no easy task, and at times, seems impossible.

Consider this a MUST READ.

Liza Reviews Seductive Powers (The Capes Series) by Rebecca Royce.

Today I'm reviewing a book about superheroes.

You gotta love superheroes, because they are the ultimate alpha. Draco Powers is everything a woman could want in a man except he's afraid the people he loves will get hurt or, worse, killed.

For a fun read, this turned out to be a rather deep novella for me.

Blurb
Wendy Warner is a bit of an oddball. Raised in an orphanage, she’s found solace and friendship by watching the television show, Space Adventures, and participating in its fan clubs. Twice a month, Wendy comes to work dressed in a costume from the show that she wears to charity events. She’s been able to ignore the looks of distain from many of her coworkers, but when the president of the company gazes at her with something more, she knows she’s in deep.

Draco Powers rather likes the way the uniform hugs all her curves in the just the right places. He’s also a real-life Guardian who told the world that, yes, some people had superhuman abilities, but, no, they wouldn’t work for free or without health insurance. Some people refer to him with derision as the "Capitalist Guardian." While Draco doesn’t care what he’s called, he’s also being hunted by a group called the Organization, whose motives are unclear and yet still cause death and destruction wherever they go.

MY REVIEW

Rebecca Royce does a fabulous job creating a three-dimensional super hero with emotional fears. Yes, he can rip the paws off a giant robot cat, but can he safely make love to the woman he loves? And should he love anyone, given being with him makes them a target?

This poor superhero fears emotional ties, due to abandonment issues. (His father wanders about fathering immensely strong babies, then leaves the poor mom to raise them.) He also suffers from the realities of life. Just because he's superhero, capable of saving people no one else can, doesn't mean he doesn't need to put food on the table and receive health insurance just like normal people.

Just because you do something nice, doesn't mean you shouldn't get paid for it. But oddly, the world condemns him for asking for payment before saving people. This is all Superman's fault. He set unrealistic expectations.

However, that's just the tip of Draco's problems. When he realizes he loves his handler of four years, Wendy, he makes some good bonding progress. (No not the ropes and whip kind, but the emotional kind.) Yet when her life becomes threatened, he makes some terrible decisions, just like normal people do.

There's a ton of  life lessons in this story. Doesn't matter who you are, we all have emotional baggage we need to handle. Love is scary, but running away will not save you from pain. There is no protection from the longings of your heart. All you can do is hold on and cherish every moment of love.

I give this story a superhero 5 for Rebecca Royce's ability to take a worn out subject and breathe fresh and authentic air into it.
