You know how you’ll sometimes
lift material from an email and when it comes over to the blog, if you have a colored
background, it has this god awful white strip behind the letters making your
blog look like a kidnap ransom letter.
I HAVE KIDNAPPED YOUR DOG. SHE IS INCREDIBLY ANNOYING. I'LL PAY YOU $20 TO TAKE HER BACK
Here’s the fastest way I’ve
found to fix it.
Change to HTML
(Blogger/blogspot) or TEXT (Wordpress)
Copy All to empty Word doc.
(Don't try to isolate the problem, just Ctrl A and copy the whole blog)
<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div
class="MsoNormal">
<span
style="font-size: 22.0pt;"><br /></span></div>
<div
class="MsoNormal">
<span
style="background-color: white; font-family: HelveticaNeue, 'Helvetica
Neue', Helvetica, Arial, 'Lucida Grande', sans-serif;"><span
style="font-size: x-large;">I HAVE KIDNAPPED YOUR DOG. SHE IS
INCREDIBLY ANNOYING. I'LL PAY YOU $20 TO TAKE HER
BACK</span></span></div>
<div
class="MsoNormal">
<span
style="font-size: 22.0pt;"><br /></span></div>….
I know. Looks a bit intimidating, but you don't have to read it, just follow these simple instructions:
1) Pull up the find &
replace function in Word.
2)Type in the find box:
background-color: white
3) Put empty space bar click in the replace box
4) Replace all
5) Then modify the find box to read: background: white
6) Hit Replace all
(For some reason, sometimes both 'background-color' and 'background' are used, so it's better to attempt to delete both.)
Then copy the HTML back to
web page’s HTML or TEXT page
Change back to the View page, hit preview and the white strips should be gone and you can actually read the words:
That's not funny in the least, Jess, your dog
ReplyDeleteWhy does Jess want $20? I mean, you walk everyday!! I'm glad to know how to do this. Does it not show up in the preview or do people just post without preview?
ReplyDeleteNo the dognapper is willing to pay me to take Jess back because she wants to to on hikes everyday.
ReplyDeleteYes the white background will show up in preview. But this is how you fix the problem once you see you have a problem.
