The many ways humans will disappear

Today, I read an article on a new deadly bio-terror possibility: Clostridium botulinum.

It's a paralytic botulism so potent that a single gram of the crystalized substance could kill a million people.

Botulinum toxins have been a fav standby for those wishing to update their bio-weapons inventory. Syria, Russian, Iran, Iraq, and North Korea are all reputed to have them.

There's been 7 Botulinum toxins, labeled A-G. They all have antidotes.

H does not yet have an antidote, so the researchers have withheld publishing the gene blueprints until there's an antidote.

Let me pause and say:
Thank you, scientists for being responsible humans.

Feeling a bit relieved now for the human race, it does make me ponder why we still invest so heavily in nuclear weapons.

Yes, they make an impressive cloud to start the whole dying process off. But are they actually practical anymore, or just a big money pit we can't get out of.

Sorry, am I depressing you?

Don't be sad. Just live your life to your fullest. It's all any of us can do. Even if we manage to behave and not destroy ourselves, the next ice age is coming, I don't think we can escape a natural cycle of Earth...

While it doesn't look good for us getting off this planet and going somewhere safer, it occurred to me, we still might have a shot of us partially surviving.

What if our souls are able to space travel. We could travel around on space winds until we fall upon a planet and lurk about a female creature waiting for her to birth  her baby creatures, then we can jump in and take possession of the body.

Hmmm...this makes us sound like body invaders...

So how do you think the human race will end? Or do you believe we'll continue forever via soul travel or some other method?

  1. I agree that nuclear is over-rated. Sort of like using a sledgehammer to kill a mosquito. The germ warfare is harder to find and silent. I just hope that I'm dead before the rest of the planet goes to hell in a handbasket.

  2. Nothing lasts forever and I doubt we shall - but it will be millenia before we are gone. How? Haven't a clue.
